Gilbert W. “Bill” Wallace of Niles passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 8:30 p.m. in the ICU of St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was 68.
Mr. Wallace was born on October 23, 1949 in Youngstown, the son of the late Gilbert E. and Lois Joann Hobba Wallace.
He was a 1967 graduate of Niles McKinley High School. Bill retired as the general manager of Handyman Hardware in Champion in 2016 after 30 years of employment.
Mr. Wallace was of Protestant faith. Bill coached numerous Niles Little League Baseball teams throughout the 1980’s and early 90’s. He had a passion for science fiction and history movies. Early on in Bill’s life he loved following various types of local bands throughout the valley.
He is survived by a sister, Sharon (Kenneth) Lissimore of Myrtle Beach, SC; a niece, Teresa (Brian) Dragich; a nephew, Ron (Stelliann) Wood; 2 great nephews, Michael (Sashell) and Anthony; 1 great niece Carly; 2 great great nephews, Lincoln and Levi. Bill will also be greatly missed by many of his close friends.

Calling hours will take place on Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Wm Nicholas Funeral Home & Cremation Services 614 Warren Ave. Niles, OH 44446.
A funeral service will be on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
Internment will take place in Lake Park Cemetery, Struthers.
