Henry Sabatt of Niles passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 1:22 a.m. in his residence. He was 92.
Mr. Sabatt was born in Kensington, PA on April 15, 1926, the son of the late Charles and Adela Patla Sabatt.
Following graduation from Niles McKinley High School, Henry proudly served our country during WWII in the United States Navy from 1944 until his honorable discharge in 1946.
He was employed by J&L Steel for 28 years working as tube mill operator. After the plant closed, he was employed by Thomas Steel for 13 years.
Henry was of Catholic faith and was a member of St. Stephen Church. He loved working with his hands, especially building things and working on home improvement. He also enjoyed taking long walks throughout the city, listening to music, reading, and watching baseball and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan.
Mr. Sabatt is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Barbara White Sabatt, whom he married on September 27, 1957; 3 children, Michael Sabatt, Cynthia Rodriguez, and Stephen Sabatt; a younger brother, Charles Sabatt; and 2 grandchildren, Jessica and Ashley Rodriguez.
In addition to his parents, Henry was proceeded in death by an older brother, John Sabatt.

At Henry’s wishes, there will be no visitation and a private service will be held at a later date.
Internment will be at Niles City Cemetery.
