Herbert “Jack” Hawout of Niles passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 2:25 a.m. in the Humility House. He was 83.
Jack was born on October 10, 1935 in Johnstown, PA, the son of the late Herbert J. and Nellie Cann Hawout.
He was a 1954 graduate of Conemaugh Valley High School. Following high school, Jack was stationed in Iceland while proudly serving our country in the United States Army.
Mr. Hawout retired in 1998 after 37 years as a Stem Mechanic for the Warren GE Ohio Lamp Plant.
Jack was an active member of Faith Baptist Church and preached in various churches throughout the area. Jack’s love for his Lord and Savior molded his strong character. Even battling dementia, Jack was able to quote scripture on a regular basis. He had a strong work ethic and cherished being a husband and father.
He is survived by his wife, Carole Hunt Hawout whom he married December 21, 1957; 3 sons, Jeffrey Hawout of Poland, Craig (Sharon) Hawout of Madison Heights, VA, and Eric (Derricka) Hawout of Niles; 9 grandchildren, Matthew, Elyse, Bethany, Daniel, Joshua, Zachary, Gabrielle, Macey, and Micah.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by a sister, Shirlea Reese and a nephew, Robert Reese.

Calling hours will be on Monday, February 25, 2019 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Wm Nicholas Funeral Home & Cremation Services 614 Warren Ave. Niles, OH 44446.
A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Faith Baptist Church 1402 Shaw Rd. Niles, OH 44446 with Rev. Leonard Towle and Rev. Ben Reed. There will also be calling hours in the church one hour prior to the service.
Internment will take place in Kerr Cemetery.
