Barbara Peto Zagorec

Barbara Peto Zagorec of Brookfield passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at 5:40 p.m. in Addison Healthcare Center. She was 66.

Barbara was born in Sharon, PA on March 14, 1953, the daughter of the late Steve and Pauline Krmel Neral.

She was a 1971 graduate of Brookfield High School. Barbara retired in 2002 from Target Stamp Production where she worked as a press operator and in the office for 14 years. Following her retirement, Barbara owned and operated Homemade Goodies where she baked cookies for various events. She became affectionately known as the “cookie lady”.

Barbara had a passion for baking cookies and cooking in general. She cherished her family and loved spending time with them.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Zagorec whom she married in 1988; 2 daughters, Amber (Matt) Glover of Brookfield and Erin (Hayden) Howell of Stockbridge, GA; a son, Jason Peto of Oxford, NC; a brother, Steve (Lynn) Neral of Brookfield; 4 grandchildren, Cole, Kaylee, Emily, and Kane.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by a brother, James Neral.

At Barbara’s request there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
