Bernadette Callihan of Niles passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, in University Hospital Portage Medical Center. She was 33.
She was born in Warren on January 29, 1991, the daughter of O. Ray Jr. and Vickie L. Hudson Callihan.
Bernadette was a 2010 graduate of Niles McKinley High School. Following high school, she obtained her Liberal Arts and Science Degree from Youngstown State University.
Bernadette enjoyed life to the fullest. She went bowling every Tuesday night with her mom at McKinley Lanes and liked taking her beloved dogs Prince and Mickey to the Austintown Dog Park. She was a constant babysitter for her cousins who she adored and worked for the past few years at the Canfield Scaregrounds terrifying people. Bernadette played soccer but was an avid fan of all sports and looked forward to cheering on her Ohio State team. She also loved target shooting which she was excellent with a bow, riding roller coasters, fishing, attending truck and tractor pulls, and just going for a drive. Many great memories were also made at concerts she attended with her parents seeing the likes of Breaking Benjamin, Tim McGraw, Five Finger Death Punch, and Kenny Chesney just to name a few.
She is survived by her loving parents, O. Ray and Vickie Callihan of Niles; her grandparents, James and Edith Daugherty of Warren; her rescue dogs, Prince, and Mickey along with her “brother” Huey the cat; Uncle Keith (Caley) Callihan and their children Madison, Bella, Matthew, Jason, and Alex; Aunt Shelly (Jeff) Brady and their daughter Ashley Crislip; Aunt Sue Putnam, her children, Tina and Matthew Putnam and her kids, Cole Forrester, Katherine Mays, and Garrick Smith; Aunt Peggy (Rex Copeland) Timko, their daughter, Gina (Kevin) Perry, and their son Tanner and daughter Tegan, son Jared (Danielle) Timko and his sons Cody, Jared Jr, and Jacob, and her son Brian Timko, and daughter Meghan (Mitchell) Payne and their daughter Abigail and son Eli Aunt Rebecca “Bḕcka” (Tim) Walter and their daughter Kayla Walter; 2 step aunts, Brenda Fair and Sharon Sackett; 4 step uncles, Jimmy (Doris) Daughtery, Timmy Daughtery, Tommy Daughtery, and Jeff (Tami) Daughtery; her cousin Shawn “Eeyore” Chambers and Miranda Crawford, who she spoke to every day and their son Colston who she babysat every Friday; cousin Jen and Jeff Jordigan and their kids Seth and McKayla; cousin, Katrina Chambers and Tim Holbrook and their son Shawn; Amanda (Mike) Sherrill and her son Jacob and daughter Mariah; Josiah Lewis who she babysat; as well as many other cousins far and wide. She touched the lives of so many and all of her friends, family, animals and pretty much anyone who has encountered this courageous and spirited will miss her dearly.
Bernadette was preceded in death by her grandparents, Otha and Bonnie Callihan; Aunt Sharon Callihan; Uncle Tony Callihan; Aunt Vicki Parisi; Uncle Robert “PIA” Hudson; and cousin, Eric Crislip.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Make a Wish Foundation Ohio/ Kentucky 6060 Rockside wood Blvd. #315, independence, Ohio 44131 which was an organization very close to Bernadette’s heart.

Calling hours will be on Monday, February 19, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Wm Nicholas Funeral Home and Cremation Services 614 Warren Ave. Niles, OH 44446. Please dress as she would have wanted with either your favorite OSU or Darth Vader themed shirts and sweatshirts.
A celebration of life will follow at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
