David Martin Corll

December 25, 1929 — October 20, 2018

David Martin Corll, 88, of New Springfield, OH, passed of natural causes into eternal life on October 20, 2018 at 1:25 a.m., surrounded by family at the home his hands built.

David was born in Hubbard, OH on December 25, 1929, the son of the late Homer and Bertha Thomas Corll.

He graduated from Boardman High School.  David served honorably in the US Army from 1951 to 1953.  After his military service, David worked at Youngstown Sheet and Tube.  Following retirement, he worked for his son’s business, MC Welding and Fabrication.

David enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and woodcrafts throughout his life.  He supported his children through active participation in Scouting and Youth groups.  Other interests he enjoyed with his family include camping, horseback riding, and various outdoor activities.  Additionally, he loved his Presbyterian Church family and served as an Elder and was an active member of Blue Lodge Argus #545 of Free & Accepted Masons, and various other Masonic organizations.

David is survived by his wife of 67 years, Verna I. Rummel Corll, whom he married January 25, 1951 of New Springfield, along with their 5 children; Daniel and Debbie Corll of Wexford, PA, Mark and Michelle Corll of Canfield, OH, Alice and Dan Dunn of Lawrenceville, GA, Paul and JoAnn Corll of Berlin Center, OH, and Lucinda Corll of New Springfield, OH; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by 1 brother and 2 sisters.

A private family service was held on October 21, 2018.  An open memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced.  David’s cremains will be buried at Petersburg Cemetery in Petersburg, OH.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Westminster Presbyterian Church 119 Stadium Dr. Youngstown, OH 44512 or Grace Hospice 7206 Market St. Youngstown, OH 44512.
