Diana Maselli

Howland, Ohio - Diana J. Maselli, 75, died Monday, April 30, 2018 at St. Elizabeth-Mercy Health Youngstown. She was born on December 5, 1942 in Warren, Ohio, the daughter of the late Rudolph and Rose Pinti DeSantis.

Diana graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in 1960, earned her bachelor’s degree from Kent State University and master’s degree from Youngstown State University.  She taught many classes over the years at Warren G Harding, Niles High School and Youngstown State University,  but was known by many of her students and colleagues for her work with OWE and as the head of the English department of Niles.  She shaped the lives of so many students over her 40 year career in teaching.

She enjoyed participating as a member of the Civitellesi Club of Warren, playing 500 Bid with her 'Card Club' friends, and was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Parish.  She cherished spending time with her family and friends, decorating, sewing, cross stitch and baking.  She touched so many people, and was adored for her spirit, generosity and kind ways.

Memories of Diana will be carried on by her husband, Donald Maselli of Howland, whom she married August 8, 1964, son, Dana F. (Joannie) Maselli of Aurora, OH, daughter, Disa M. (Mark) D’Andrea of Howland, grandchildren Kathryn, Kerri and Matthew Maselli and Eliana, Mia and Isabell D'Andrea, brother, Daniel (Louise) DeSantis of Somersworth, NH, nephew, Peter DeSantis, and niece, Madeline (Aaron) Wysocki.

Family and friends will gather Friday, May 4, 4:00 pm til 6:00pm at Blessed Sacrament Church, with a Celebration of Life Mass to follow at 6:00pm. Her family suggests contributions be made to the donor's favorite charity in Diana's name.
