Dorothy Louise Phillips

Dorothy Louise (Hyde) Phillips, 84, of Vienna, died 8:00 PM Monday, January 26, 2004 at home.

She was born Friday, October 10, 1919, in Cleveland, the daughter of the late Harold and Evelyn Mary Boughton Hyde.

She had worked in shipping at Packard Electric and was a life member of the Packard Museum Association. She was an active person with varying interests and hobbies, including trains, sailing, rollerskating and swimming. She was an aquatic instructor for the Trumbull Chapter of the American Red Cross at Packard Pool. She also taught handicapped swimming at the YMCA.

Surviving Mrs. Phillips are two daughters: Joyce Ann (Paul) Lundy of Cortland and Diane Sproules of Tallahassee, Florida; a son, Richard Lynn (Vera) Phillips of Vienna, with whom she made her home; a sister, Marjorie Swanson of Michigan; seven grandchildren: Lynette Bolinger, Brian Lundy, Jimmy Hanshaw, Karen Revell, Shanda Nagle, Erica Babic and Christopher Phillips; and seven great-grandchildren: Ian and Jacob Nagle, Beric, Brianna and Morgan Babic, Marcus and Ashley Revell.

Preceding Mrs. Phillips in death are her parents; her husband, Paul Phillips; a brother, Dickie Hyde; and a sister, Barbie Saltzman.

Services for Mrs. Phillips will be 11:00 AM Friday January 30, 2004 at The McFarland and Son Funeral Home, 271 North Park Avenue, Warren, Ohio 44481, with Rev. Cliff Carpenter officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home 4:00 to 6:00 PM Thursday and 10:00 to 11:00 AM Friday. Interment will be at Lake Chautauqua Cemetery in Chautauqua, New York.
