Dr. Paul Michael Cayavec

Dr. Paul Michael Cayavec of Niles, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 1:02 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was 57.
Paul was born on February 2, 1960 in Warren, the son of the late Millard Paul and Carmella Ann DiNaples Cayavec.
He was a 1977 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School. Following high school, Paul matriculated to Trumbull Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, where he became a registered nurse. He then went on to further his education as a doctor, graduating in 1988 as a doctor of osteopathic medicine from the University of Health Science in Kansas City, Missouri. Dr. Paul then completed his resident internship at Warren General Hospital and an internship at Youngstown Osteopathic Hospital from 1988 to 1990. He was the Senior Resident of Internal Medicine in Massillon, Ohio from 1990 to 1991. Dr. Paul completed his formal education as a Fellow in Infectious Disease at the University of Kentucky in 1993.
In 1989 Dr. Cayavec opened Primary Healthcare Group, Inc. in Niles where he specialized in infectious disease. Paul was a highly knowledgeable and respected doctor and traveled all over the United States giving medical lectures.
Paul was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish. He enjoyed trying food of different nationalities. In his spare time Paul enjoyed reading. He was a giving and generous man to numerous organizations.
Dr. Cayavec is survived by a nephew, Jeffrey J. Cayavec of Niles; a sister-in-law Charlotte Cayavec of Niles; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffrey Paul Cayavec.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Wm Nicholas Funeral Home & Cremation Services LLC 614 Warren Ave. Niles, OH 44446. The Mount Carmel Bereavement Ministry will conduct prayers at 7:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church with Rev. John-Michael Lavelle. The procession to church will leave the funeral home at 9:40 a.m.
Internment will take place in St. Stephens Cemetery.
