Gary "Rick" Coleman

Gary “Rick” Coleman of Niles passed away following a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. in his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was 48.

Rick was born on October 24, 1970 in Warren, the son of the late Tinnes and Barbara Daugherty Coleman.

He was a lifelong residence of Niles and attended Niles City School Systems. Mr. Coleman worked the automotive field his entire life, specializing in sales and management.

He was an avid supporter of our local sports teams, including the Niles Red Dragon’s, the Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers, and Indians.  He enjoyed NASCAR and traveling, especially to the beach. His true passion was cars. Rick cherished his family and all the memories that they made together.

Mr. Coleman is survived by his wife, Sherry Plant Coleman, whom he married November 9, 1991; 3 daughters, Paige (John) Woodley of Niles, Cortney (Allen) Hayes of Niles, and Haley Coleman of Mineral Ridge; a son, Austin Coleman whom resides at home; 2 sisters, Dee Housel of Niles and Michelle Coleman of Warren; 4 brothers, Denny (Jodi) Coleman of McDonald, Darryl (Tina) Coleman of Niles, Dallas (Tina) Coleman of Mineral Ridge, and Chad Coleman of Niles; 7 grandchildren, Kyleigh, John Jr., Allen Jr., Kaedyn, Liam, Laylah, and Annalee.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Wm Nicholas Funeral Home & Cremation Services 614 Warren Ave. Niles, OH 44446.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2019 in the funeral home with Rev. Scott Ardary.

Internment will take place in Kerr Cemetery.
