George L. Doan

Warren, Ohio - George L Doan, 83, died Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Washington Square Healthcare Center. He was born on November 21, 1934 in Rockton, Pennsylvania, the son of the late George and Twila Doan.

George was employed by American Welding as a Millwright until his retirement. He also was a member of the VFW, the NRA and the Salvation Army. He enjoyed family activities and gatherings with friends.

He served his country during the Korean War era and active duty in the Army during the Vietnam War.

George is survived by his son, Richard (Alra Thornsberry) Doan and family of Niles, OH, and son, Michael (Suzy) Doan and family of Kennesaw, GA.

He was preceded in death by his father George Miles Doan and mother, Twila Halada Doan and Shirley Doan.

The Family will receive friends Friday, May 25, 2018 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm at McFarland-Barbee Family Funeral Home. Services will be held at 6:00 pm immediately following calling hours with Rev. Yesudas Devadan officiating.

His family has suggested in lieu of flowers that contributions be made in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project or Salvation Army.
