George A. Webb went to join his Heavenly Father Thursday, October 24, 2019 after an extended illness. He was surrounded by his loving wife and all of his children at his bedside. Mr. Webb was 88 years old.
He was born in Goldthwait, TX on June 23, 1931, the son of the late Henry and Minnie May Janes Webb.
George was a Marine veteran serving in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. After his retirement from the Marine Corps February 28, 1971, George surrendered to God’s calling and became a Baptist Minister. He graduated from the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas in May 1973. Soon after, he moved the family to Ohio serving as a Southern Baptist Home Missionary. He served as pastor to several churches in the Trumbull County area including Southington Baptist Church in Southington, Ohio and New Covenant Baptist Church in Lordstown, Ohio. George retired from his ministry in 1996 to pursue spending time with family and his favorite hobby of wood working.
Mr. Webb is survived by his wife of 65 years, Doris Lindsey Webb of Mentor, Ohio, whom he married July 10, 1954; his six daughters JoAnn (Lindsey) Jackson of Mentor, Ohio, Yulonda Chitwood of Cortland, Ohio, Georgia Gichenko and Bill of Novelty, Ohio, Barb Toreki of Mentor, Ohio, Becky Bosak of Warren, Ohio, Amy Hart and Herb of Warren, Ohio; a son Andy Webb and Donna of Richlands, North Carolina. George and Doris were blessed with a large family having 18 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by two sisters Minnie Lee Pundsack of Taylor, Texas and Daphene Pundsack-Linville of Lampasas, Texas

A Memorial Service will be held on November 9th, 2019 at 11:00 am with lunch afterwards in Parkman Community Church at 18265 Madison Rd., Middlefield, Ohio 44062.
