Gilda Rose Alberini of Niles passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at 1:35 p.m. in St. Joseph’s Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was 88 years old.
Gilda was born on May 5, 1931 in Moween, PA, the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Corso Iezzi.
She established her restaurant legacy with her husband in 1957. In union, their business thrived on the infamous Niles strip for 56 years.
Gilda traveled a vast amount of the world, enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, and put her heart and soul into her business. She did all of which with grace.
She is survived by her daughter and two sons, Sandra Alberini (Harry Brown) of Columbus, Joseph Alberini Sr. (Jennifer) of Howland and Richard “Chook” Alberini Jr (Brigitte) of Howland; four grandchildren James Keating Jr, Gilda Anderson (Arthur), Jenna Alberini and Dominic Alberini and three greatgrandchildren Lucas Anderson, Leo Anderson and Phoebe Mcintosh-Keating. Her sister in law Madeline Deangelis (Rudy), sister in law Margaret Izzi, and brother in law Fred Alberini (Carol). She also has family in AZ, many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends that will miss her dearly.
Her husband, Richard F. Alberini Sr whom she married in July of 1959, passed away in January 2008.
In addition to her parents and husband, Gilda was preceded in death by her brother and sisters Raymond, Sadie and Isabel Iezzi; her brother and sister in law Victor and Ruth Alberini; her mother and father in law Fred Sr. and Madeline Alberini and her grandson Joseph Alberini Jr.
