Harriet "Betty" A. Kennedy

July 30, 1927 — September 20, 2018

Harriet Amelia “Betty” Kennedy, 91, of Cortland, passed through the earthly veil on September 20, 2018.  Born July 30, 1927 in Carlisle Pennsylvania to Mary and Ronald Dutrey, Betty now joins the love of her life, husband Arthur W. Kennedy in God’s Celestial Kingdom for all time and eternity.

Betty’s family moved to Trumbull County from Carlisle Pennsylvania during the Great Depression.  A graduate of Harding High School she worked tirelessly during our Country’s war effort in the Metallurgy department at Republic Steel. In later years she worked in retail, most recently at Howard’s Menswear in downtown Warren.

Always active in community service and school functions.  Betty leaves behind 3 children, Carl W. Roose, Kevin M. Kennedy, Kelly (Jack) Mills, 3 Step children, Michelle “Mickey” Wilson, Stephen (Patricia) Kennedy and Dale Kennedy.  The absolute light of her life was Granddaughter Jennifer Redmond and her Husband Andrew Redmond, their children, Zoey, Averie, Charlotte. Through marriage Betty leaves behind 16 great grandchildren, one of whom preceded her in death, Nathan Mills. She also leaves behind her constant companion of many years, dog Lola.

Betty lived a rich and fulfilling life.  Travelling extensively through North America with the love of her life, Art. Playing golf at Northwood Golf Club on a regular basis. A member of the Bazetta Christian Church for 64 years and the Warren Emblem Club, she will be missed by many.  There will be a private ceremony for immediate family. The family requests in lieu of flowers, any donations be made to the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County, P.O. Box 66, Vienna, Ohio 44473.
