Helen R. Haroulakis Nolan, 82, of Warren Ohio, passed away peacefully at Washington Square Healthcare Center on September 27, 2018. The daughter of Joseph and Pearl Devlin Meyer was born on July 19, 1936 in Warren, Ohio. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Warren.
Helen was employed by Ames Department Store as a Clerk for a number of years. She cherished her family gatherings and outings and was very involved with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed every moment with them. She also loved camping with the family, enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
Memories of Helen will be carried on by her five children; sons, John Haroulakis of Warren; William (Brenda) Haroulakis of Warren; David (Sharon) Haroulakis of Gerber, CA; daughters, Carol (Michael) Bucci of Warren; Regina (Robert) Godfrey of Warren; sisters, Wilma Wojtowicz of Levittsburg, and Patricia (Eugene) Henry of Levittsburg, her 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and sisters-in-law; Nancy Meyer of Levittsburg and Patricia Meyer of Lordstown,
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Meyer, mother, Pearl Devlin Meyer, first husband; Andre Haroulakis, second husband; Willian Nolan; brothers; Robert Meyer, William Meyer, James Meyer; sisters; Norma Louise Medzie, Shirley Palmer, Mary Tombar, daughter-in-law; Joann Haroulakis, and grandson; Stephen Bucci.
The family would like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at Washington Square Healthcare Center. The staff had filled Helen’s second home with love and memories that we will cherish forever and you have embraced us all with love that only a family can and you will be forever in our hearts. To the Harbor Lights Hospice staff who gave all the extra love and care that Helen needed, thank you. Lastly, to Mr. Andrew Prox of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton who made it possible for Helen to receive Holy Communion and prayer each week.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 1, 2018 from 5:00 pm to7:00 pm at McFarland-Barbee Family Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass service will be held at St. Cyril-Methodious on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at 11:00 am with Father Murphy officiating. Services of final committal will follow at a later date at All Souls Cemetery in Cortland, Ohio.
I lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made in the form of donations to Washington Square Healthcare Center, a Veterans Supported Home, or to Harbor Lights Hospice.
