Jack W. Thompson

Jack W. Thompson, 84, of Warren, died 11:05 PM on Monday, January 31, 2005 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital-Forum Health. He was born Saturday, November 27, 1920, in Warren, the son of the late Nelson, Sr. and Marie Frances (Butler) Thompson.

Mr. Thompson graduated from Warren G. Harding High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Medical Corps and the Infantry. He retired as a die setter from Packard Electric. He was a member (50-year) of the Knights of Pythias, VFW Post 3332, and the Dramatic Order of the Knights of Kharassan (D.O.K.K.).

Surviving Mr. Thompson are his wife, Amalia Nahlen Thompson, whom he married March 23, 1946; a daughter, Kathleen M. Milleson of Warren; two sisters: Alice Slagle of Warren and Frances (Tom) Evans of Akron; a brother, Samuel (Ellie) Thompson of Toledo; five grandchildren: Tracy (Tom) Bodnar of Newton Falls, and Kevin Milleson, Erica Thompson, Stacy Milleson, and Kristen Thompson, all of Warren; and six great-grandchildren: Anita D. Lee, Ryhan M., Leeha M., Jayce H., Ashley N. Milleson, and Hannah A. Thompson, all of Warren.

Preceding Mr. Thompson in death are his parents; a son, Thomas M. Thompson; a grandson, Craig M. Milleson; four brothers: Richard "Tom", Nelson, Kenneth, and William Thompson; and two sisters: Hazel Lillicoth and June K. Siverling.

Services for Mr. Thompson will be 1:30 PM Thursday, February 3, 2005 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, 271 North Park Avenue, Warren, Ohio 44481, with Rev. David R. Black of Calvary Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Burial Park. There are no calling hours. Material contribtions may be made to either the Girl Scouts, 980 Warren Ave., Niles, Ohio 44446 or to the Boy Scouts, 4930 Enterprise Dr. N.W., Warren, Ohio 44481.
