Jean Kathleen Sober

Jean Kathleen Sober of Niles, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018 at 10:51 p.m. in St. Elizabeth Main Campus. She was 89.

Jean was born on August 15, 1928 in Washingtonville, OH, the daughter of the late Emerson and Evelyn Brain Bush.

She was a graduate of Niles McKinley High School. Following high school, Jean was employed as a key punch operator for the former Packard Electric. Mrs. Sober was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker.

Mrs. Sober was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Niles. She belonged to various bowling leagues earlier in her life. Jean enjoyed walking at the Eastwood Mall and playing cards with lifelong friends that she formed at Packard Electric. Mrs. Sober loved spending time with her family and cherished all the memories they made together.

Her husband, William Winfield Sober whom she married April 28, 1949, passed away on December 1, 2007.

She is survived by a daughter, Debra (Robert) Moss of Niles; a son, William E. (Caroline) Sober of Muncy, PA; 2 grandchildren, Amanda & Kristopher; 2 great grandchildren, Joslyn Marion, Koriana Solinger.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by a half-brother, Paul Brain.

Calling hours will be on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Wm Nicholas Funeral Home & Cremation Services 614 Warren Ave. Niles, OH 44446.

A funeral service will take place on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

Internment will take place in Niles City Cemetery.
