Jeffrey Forest Gilliam

On December 9, 2018, Jeffrey Forest Gilliam, 62, of Coitsville, OH, left this world to be with the Lord I heaven. Jeffrey Gilliam was born August 10, 1956 in Warren, to Forest and Maxine Lowe Gilliam. Jeff Graduated from Howland High School in 1975. He worked, lived, and spent most of his life in the Niles – Howland area where he met his wife, Sonja (Cox) Gilliam, whom he married in 1978. They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in May.

In 2000, Jeff and his family relocated to Coitsville, OH where they build their new home. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid deer hunter where he shard his time with his wife, children, and friends. He was a loving husband, passionate father, fun-loving grandfather, and a true friend.

Jeff leaves behind his wife Sonja (Cox) Gilliam and three children; Renee Vaughn (Jared) of Florida, Joshua Gilliam (Heather) of Pennsylvania, and Ryan Gilliam (Emily) of Ohio. Missing him greatly will be his six grandchildren, Makayla, Adriana, Joshua Aidan, Bailey, Aubrey, and Jace, who lovingly named him Pappa. Also surviving are Jeff’s parents, Forest and Maxine Gilliam of Howland and his siblings: Nancy Gilliam of Howland and Daniel Gilliam of Florida.

Jeff was an active member of Liberty Bible Church in Vienna, which provided support and care during Jeff’s illness. Thank you to Liberty Bible Church’s First Responders group, Cleveland Clinic medical staff, and Harbor Light Hospice for help with his care during his illness.

Psalm 42:1 says, “As a deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O’ God.” Jeffrey loved the Lord, his Savior, and will be spending eternity with Him.

Calling hours will be on Friday, December 14, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Liberty Bible Church 2111 Sodom Hutchings Rd. NE Vienna, OH 44473

Family members and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life service for Jeffrey Gilliam on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Church.

Internment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery.
