Jim Ghizzoni of Brookfield passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 12:15 a.m. after a long and courageous battle with prostate cancer. He was 72.
Jim was born on May 12, 1947 in Sharon, PA, the son of the late Adolph and Theresa Beni Ghizzoni.
He was a 1965 graduate of Brookfield High School. Mr. Ghizzoni was self-employed, owning various successful businesses through the area.
Jim was a former member of the Brookfield Optimist Club. He enjoyed going to flea markets. Jim believed in a hard day’s work and his work ethic was unsurpassed. Most importantly he cherished his family and all of the memories they made together.
Mr. Ghizzoni proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. While in the Army, he worked in air traffic control and achieved the rank of Sergeant.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene Ghizzoni, whom he married April 4, 1981; 3 sons, Kristopher (Tatum) Ghizzoni, Dustin (Daniela) Ghizzoni, and Craig (Amy) Ghizzoni all of Brookfield; a brother, Alan Ghizzoni of Boulder City, NV; 8 grandchildren, Dante, Santino, Caterina, Adalyn, Chase, Olivia, Tre, and Jaxson.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents.

Calling hours will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2019 in the Lane Funeral Homes - Madasz Chapel 6923 Warren Sharon Rd. Brookfield, OH 44403. Military honors will be given at 7:00 p.m.
Internment will take place in Brookfield Township Cemetery.
