John Thomas Collister

Warren, OH – John T. Collister, 81, passed away peacefully at Washington Square Healthcare Center in Warren, Ohio, Thursday, August 9, 2018. He was born on June 17, 1937 in Warren, Ohio, the son of the late John and Mary Barnes Collister.

John, graduated from Mercersburg Academy in Mercersburg, PA., then went onto the University of Pennsylvania. John served our country in the US Navy and upon his return he started his professional career at Pam America Air Ways as an Operations Manager.  John was known for his intellect and curious mind exploring many topics that included the history of early American Colonies and US history. He also was a United Kingdom and European history enthusiast  dealing with the middle-ages and the Collister family. He was known for his love and being an expert of the Packard automobile as well as a collector of antique automobiles and attending cars shows across Ohio and Pennsylvania.

John is preceded in death by his father John Collister, mother Mary Barnes Collister, and grandparents. Memories of John will be carried on by his sister, Susan Collister of Chicago, IL, and his friends Mike and Lori James, and Alan Harvey.

There will be no calling hours and a private interment will take place at Lake View Cemetery in Cleveland, OH.
