John Grace

June 29, 1947 — January 10, 2018

John Grace of McDonald passed away with his daughter by his side on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 2:02 a.m. He was 70.

A life long resident, Mr. Grace was born in Youngstown on June 29, 1947, the son of the late Angelo and Katherine Bosso Grace.

He was a graduate of Chaney High School. Following high school, John retired in 2010 after 43 years with Girard Equipment, the former Fruehauf, where he was a parts manager.

John was an avid sports enthusiast. He was the Astro Falcons biggest supporter and diehard fan of the New York Yankees. For the past 40 years the local Class B baseball league in Struthers was John’s life. He managed the Bob Cene Park’s hitting facility, scheduled the spring high school games, and operated the scoreboard. He acquired the nickname “McDonald Super Fan” because of the support and pride he showed to the McDonald High School athletics. He was a kind and compassionate man, who touched the lives of all those who met him. Most importantly, John was a loving father who cared for his daughter immensely.

Mr. Grace is survived by a daughter, Jessica Ann Grace of McDonald; 2 brothers, Robert Grace of McDonald and Frank Grace of Lisbon; John was also a grandpa to 2 cats, Mama and Little.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Grace.

Calling hours will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2018 in the Wm Nicholas Funeral Home & Cremation Services LLC 614 Warren Ave. Niles, OH 44446.

A celebration of John’s life will take place at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Curtis Miller.
