John E. Longberry of Niles passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at 7:35 a.m. in Mercy Health -St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. He was 63.
John was born on May 17, 1955 in Warren, the son of the late M.W. “Jim” and Beverly Ann Wood Longberry.
He was a 1973 graduate of Niles McKinley High School. Following high school, John furthered his education at Penn-Ohio College where he obtained his associate degree in business.
Mr. Longberry was of Methodist faith. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, specifically fishing and camping with his family. John’s true passion was music, he played bass guitar with various groups throughout the area most of his life. He cherished the memories he made and time he spent with his loving grandchildren.
John is survived by 3 children, Philip (Maribeth) Longberry of Dayton, OH, Joshua (Talia) Longberry of Cape Coral, FL, and Brianna (Marc) Morgan of Niles; a sister, Jill Littleton of Niles; 9 grandchildren, Ryan, Morghan, Owen, Ethan, Nate, Julia, Ella, Camryn, and Brady; Mr. Longberry is also survived by his wife Mary Skocik Longberry of Niles and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Homer Littleton.
