John "Mickey" Scanlon

John “Mickey” Scanlon of Niles passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 9:50 p.m. in Trumbull Regional Medical Center. He was 74.

Mr. Scanlon was born on June 28, 1945 in Warren, the son of the late James and Edith Elizabeth Hughes Scanlon.

John was a graduate of Niles McKinley High School.

He was a laborer and crane operator at Republic Steel for 21 years prior to his retirement.

John loved being in the outdoors. He found it relaxing to work in his garden on a nice summer day.

He is survived by a son, Dale (Heidi) Elliott of Niles; 2 daughters, Denise (Ralph) Stamp of Niles, and Stacy (Bruce) Eikmann of St. Louis, MO; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Carol Rogers and Judy Barnhart.
