Lawrence Csernik

Lawrence “Larry” Csernik of Boardman passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 2:15 a.m. in his residence with his family by his side. He was 58.

Mr. Csernik was born in Youngstown on September 5, 1959, the son of Stephen and Mary Ellen Casey Csernik.

Larry was a 1977 graduate of Boardman High School. Following high school, Larry was employed in various fields throughout his life.

Larry loved spending time in the outdoors, whether it was camping, fishing, or going to the mountains, and making his own trail.  He loved the beach, and could walk for hours searching for sea glass and other treasures.  He liked to read about history, especially the pioneer days.  Larry was an avid fan of any of the Ohio sports teams. He liked to stay active in life, and in his spare time he enjoyed gardening, painting, and small handyman projects. He was of Catholic faith.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Ellen Csernik of Boardman; a sister, Cynthia (David) Benko of Boardman; 4 brothers, Richard (Daniela) Csernik of Boardman, James Csernik of Boardman, William Csernik and his fiancé Debbie of Howland, and Kevin (Kellie) Csernik of Boardman; 8 nieces and nephews, James Csernik Jr, Stephen and Nicholas Csernik, Shiann and Gavin Csernik, Jenna and Jared Benko, Daniel Csernik, as well as twin great-nieces, Ava and Ana Csernik.

In addition to his father, Larry was preceded in death by a brother Thomas Csernik.

A memorial mass will take place on Saturday at 10 a.m. January 20, 2018 at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish 915 Cornell Ave. Youngstown, OH 44502. Calling hours will be in the church a half hour prior to mass.
