Malcolm J. Tabor of Niles passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at 9:03 p.m. in Trumbull Regional Medical Center. He was 75.

Malcolm was born on October 3, 1945 in Nottingham, England the son of the late Charles and Evelyn Marson Tabor. He came to the US through Ellis Island with his mother and brother.

He was a graduate of Girard High School. Following school, Malcolm proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a combat engineer. He attained the rank Sergeant as an E5. During his time in the Army at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, Malcolm received recognition for locating 2 young children who went missing from their home.

Following his time in the Army, Mr. Tabor worked as a crane operator at US Steel in McDonald for 20 years. He then began his employment through Trumbull Memorial Hospital in the environmental services where he stayed for 25 years.

Malcolm was of Pentecostal Faith. He was a member of the VFW Post 9004 and the American Legion Post 0888. He enjoyed camping and hunting spending time outdoors. His greatest pleasure in life was his family. He enjoyed hosting cookouts and other gatherings making time to be surrounded by his loved ones.

He is survived by his wife who was the love of his life, Mary Catherine “Cass” Benedict Tabor, whom he married in 1967 and spent over 53 years together; a daughter, Rebecca (Matthew) Tabor-Pollock of Columbus; 4 sons, Pat (Nicole) Tabor of Niles, Brian M. Tabor (Michelle Burton) of Gilbert, AZ, Stephen P. Tabor (Shelly Padgitt) of Niles, and Timothy M. (Patricia) Tabor of Queen Creek, AZ; 2 sisters, Kim (George) Miller of Sterling, CT, and Kathleen (Bill) Miller of Niles; a brother, Charles (Marilyn) Tabor of Vienna; grandchildren, Andrew Pollock, Kate Marie Pollock, Michael Pollock, Nicholas Tabor, Kendall Tabor, Timothy Ray Tabor, Jake Burton, Alex, Regan, and Morgan; and he was a father figure to many young men on the South Side including Mike and Shane who he loved greatly.

In addition to his parents, Malcolm was preceded in death by a brother, Brian E. Tabor and an infant sister.

Calling hours will be on Saturday, January 2, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Wm Nicholas Funeral Home & Cremation Services 614 Warren Ave. Niles, OH 44446. At the family’s request, masks are to be worn by anyone in attendance and social distancing guidelines must be followed.

A memorial service will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
