Margaret Hayda

January 5, 1932 — August 9, 2018

Margaret Hayda of Warren gently fell asleep in the Lord’s arms at her home with her loving family at her side on Thursday, August 9, 2018 7:12 p.m. She was 86.


She was born on January 5, 1932 in Blaine, OH, the daughter of the late Andrew and Antonia Maczews Hayda, proud Ukrainian immigrants.


Margaret spent the majority of her life working at Peerless Winsmith, the former H.K. Porter Company in Warren as a coil winder.


Margaret was a proud “Baba” to several foster children. She was an avid traveler, having visited 49 of the 50 states, Alaska was the only state she never made it to. She traveled to majority of the Canadian Provinces and 16 European countries with Ukraine, Russia and Ireland being her favorite. Margaret loved doing crafts, especially counted cross stitch, word search puzzles, bingo, going to casinos, movies, live theatre, music (especially Elvis Presley), going to garage sales, celebrating her Ukrainian heritage, and anything to do with Disney. She visited Disneyworld 40 times and Disneyland 5 times.


Margaret will be remembered for living a vibrant life, being fun loving, happy, and willing to help anyone in need.


Margaret is survived by her adoring daughter Lori Hayda; her precious granddaughter Chayla; Janna Williams whom she considered a daughter all at home. She also considered Kathyann Hutchison of West Chester, PA and Gail Schult Jenkins of La Habra, CA as loving daughters as well. In addition, she is survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.


In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her sisters, Helen Viczulis, Mary, Della, Jennie Hayda and Nellie Pinter; a brother Eugene Hayda; nieces, Louise Siska and Karen Takach; a great niece Nicole Takach; a great nephew Chris Kincaid.


At Margaret’s request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service.


Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wm Nicholas Funeral Home & Cremation Services 614 Warren Ave. Niles, OH 44446.
