Marguerite Lovett

Marguerite Lovett, 92, of Howland, died at Shepard of the Valley – Howland on April 14, 2018. Born in Warren, Ohio, May 27, 1925, she was the daughter of Carl L. and Edna May (Putt) Clark and a descendant of the Clark(e) family who helped establish Rhode Island in the 1600s.

After graduation from Warren G. Harding High School in 1943, Mrs. Lovett worked for Second National Bank, Warren. She was later employed by Carlisle’s at the Village Center. On July 22, 1944, she married Don Karl Lovett, who died on June 23, 2003.

Mrs. Lovett was a 75-year member of First Presbyterian Church, Warren, which she faithfully attended until several months before her death. She was a blood donor and volunteered in various capacities at church, for Howland schools P.T.A., at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, and for charities.

She cared deeply for her family, hosting many family dinners and reunions over her lifetime. She was always available to help her family and friends for any need that arose.

Surviving are four daughters: Marsha (Robert) Wuerdeman of Cincinnati, OH; Carole (Robert) Koontz of St. Louisville, OH; Cindy Vetter of Denver, NC; and Karen C. “Chris” Lovett of Warren, OH.

Affectionately known as “Mimi” Mrs. Lovett leaves grandchildren Robert C. “Chad” (Julia) Wuerdeman, Jr.; Elizabeth “Betsy” (Jeff) Lloyd; Margaret “Meg” (David) Griswold; Natalie (Brian) Careins; Evan (Rachael) Koontz; Shanley (David Wiggins) Vetter; and Karl “KC” Vetter; and great-grandchildren Jack and Nicholas Wuerdeman; Madelyn Lloyd; Calvin, Matilda, and Everett Griswold; Alexander Careins; Elaina and Ava Koontz.

A sister, Betty Jean (Norman) Mobley of Summerfield, Florida; sister-in-law Gwendoline Clark of Galena, OH; and brother-in-law Dean (Pat) Hawk of Lima, OH, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Robert A. Clark, Carl L. Clark Jr.; and Charles E. Clark; sisters Carolyn M. Graham and Martha J. Hawk; sister-in-law Mildred Clark; and brother-in-law Major J. Graham.

Calling hours will be held in the First Presbyterian Church parlor from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2018. A memorial service with interment in the church columbarium will follow at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church 256 Mahoning Ave., Warren, OH 44481, or to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Youngstown, OH 44512.
