Marjorie Jean Swartz of Niles passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at 5:30 a.m. in Hospice House of the Valley. She was 92.
Marge was born in Youngstown on June 28, 1927, the daughter of the late Dominic and Josephine May Scanlon Flask.
Following graduation from The Rayen High School, Marge matriculated on scholarship to Kent State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree.
Ms. Swartz was employed for many years by the United Way of Greater Chicago as a fundraiser and coordinator of United Way community social projects.
She was of Catholic faith. And, following her retirement from United Way, she moved to Albuquerque, N.M., where she was active in social and political causes affecting the elderly.
Marge is survived by her brother, Paul Flask, of La Quinta, CA and several cousins living in and from the Niles-Youngstown area.

At Marge’s request there will be no calling hours or funeral service. A private graveside service will be held at Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
