Mary Ellen Core

Cortland-Mary Ellen Core, age 96, passed away September 25, 2017 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. Mary Ellen was born December 1, 1920 to John and Nellie (Moore) Francis. She resided in Cortland for the past twelve years. Prior to coming to Cortland, she and her husband, William lived in Cuyahoga Falls, Oh. William passed away in 2005 after 63 years of marriage.

Mary Ellen is survived by her daughter, Nancy Hochadel, Cortland and grandchildren, Beth (Blaine) Adams, Howland, Vicki (Chuck) Crusan, Jr., Howland, five great grandchildren; Aidan, Garrett and Ava Crusan as well as Braden and Emily Adams. She we will be missed by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Theodore Francis and sisters Helen George and Gracia Linderman.

Mary Ellen was a professional manicurist for salons throughout the Akron area. She was a member and deacon of First United Presbyterian Church, Cuyahoga Falls. She greatly enjoyed visiting with friends and relatives, bowling and was a volunteer for voter day.

The family will receive friends, Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church 256 Mahoning Avenue, Warren, OH 44483 with memorial service following immediately at the church. Rev. Rusty Cowdan, First Presbyterian Church presiding. Service of final committal will be held at Apple Creek Cemetery.
