Mary E. Custer

Mary E. Custer of Warren passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 while traveling in Hebron, OH. She was 61.

She was born in Ravenna on January 16, 1957, the daughter of the late Bradley and Leola Dobbs Sommers.

Mary attended Hiram School System. Earlier in life, Mary was employed as a nurse’s aid at Anna Maria Nursing Home in Mantua, OH.

She was a loving homemaker. She cherished her time spent with family, especially her grandchildren. Mary enjoyed crocheting, working on puzzles, and attending flea markets.

Her husband, Joseph Custer, whom she married February 17, 1976, passed away on February 1, 2013.

Mary is survived by 4 sons, Clarence (Julie) Custer, Joseph (Charletta) Custer, Kenneth Custer, and David (Brittanie) Custer all of Warren; 2 sisters, Lily (Randy) Morris of Ashtabula and Gloria (Vaughn) Caris of Ravenna; 3 brothers, Robert (Bonnie) Sommers of Hiram Rapids, OH, James Sommers of Boardman and William Sommers of Garrettsville, OH; 14 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by a brother Alan Sommers; a granddaughter, Victoria Provitt; 2 nephews, Jason Putt and Matthew Sommers; a great nephew, Matthew Sommers.
