Mary I. Marsh

Mary I. Marsh, 84, of Champion, died 6:37 PM Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at Windsor House in Champion. She was born Sunday, May 16, 1920, in Niles, the daughter of the late John and Esther Ann Monahan Russell.

Mrs. Marsh was a 1938 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and had attended the St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing. She left Niles after marrying Lloyd L. Marsh in 1939, and the couple moved to Warren for many years. From Warren, they moved to Southington, and in recent years, Mrs. Marsh moved to Champion.

Mrs. Marsh attended St. William Catholic Church. At St. Pius X Catholic Church, she had been a volunteer school secretary, had worked with the children's square dancing, and had been a member of the quilting group and the Altar and Rosary Society.

Surviving Mrs. Marsh are her daughter, Carol (Dale) Hatch of Champion; two grandchildren: Tracy (Tim) Guy of Braceville and Dale (Debbie) Hatch, Jr. of Southington; five great-grandchildren: Rachel, Lydia, Jamie, Jana, and Julene; and one great-great-grandchild, Brooke.

Preceding Mrs. Marsh in death are her parents and her husband.

A memorial service for Mrs. Marsh will be 4:00 PM Saturday, October 30, 2004 at McFarland and Son Funeral Home, 271 North Park Avenue, Warren, Ohio 44481, with Fr. Michael Smar of St. William Catholic Church officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date at All Souls Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 3:00 to 4:00 PM Saturday.
