Maurice Steiner

Maurice "Earle" Steiner, 83 ,of Warren, OH died, Tuesday, November 4, 2003 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, Warren, OH
He was born on Sunday, January 18, 1920, in Rutland, Meigs County, OH to Emory Earle and Lola Marie (Eblin) Steiner.

He attended Ohio University where he did his undergraduate work and received a B.S. in Commerce in 1948 and then went on to graduate from Harvard University with a MBA in 1950. He served in the USAAF from 1942-1945. He last taught at Ferris State College as an Associate Professor of Marketing and Retailing. He also was a buyer for the Higbee Company in Cleveland from 1950-1953; Store Manager for Bonwit Teller in Cleveland from 1953-1959; Divisional Merchandise Manager for Carlisle-Allen Co from 1959-1978.

Mr. Steiner was a life long member of Masonic Lodge #683 Lynhurst, Rotary, Buckeye Club, Beta Theta Pi and a Member of American Marketing Assoiciation and Delta Sigma Pi Marketing Fraternity. He attended the First United Methodist Church of Warren.

He married Irene "Gloria" (Hamilton) Steiner on May 9, 1953, she preceded him in death on August 14, 2002.

He is survived by a son, Earle H. Steiner of Danville, IL, a daughter, Kay Marie (Steiner) Kellogg of Naperville, IL, and five grandchildren; Bryant Scales, Reed Steiner, Lucas Steiner, Jacob Kellogg, and Caroline Kellogg, one brother, Ray Steiner of Chagrin Falls, OH.

Services are in charge of MCFARLAND AND SON FUNERAL HOME, 271 NORTH PARK AVENUE, WARREN, OH 44481, where family will greet friends from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 9, 2003. Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 309 N. Park Ave., Warren, OH 44481 on Monday, November 10, 2003, at 11:00 AM where family will also greet friends one half hour prior to the service.
