Nicholas Saker Alexander

Nicholas Saker Alexander of Niles, formerly of California passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 7:20 a.m. in Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center. He was 63.

Mr. Alexander was born in Los Angeles, CA on October 26, 1954, the son of the late Saker F. Alexander and Hazel “Rusty” M. Pharris Nelson.

Following high school graduation, Nicholas proudly served our country as a Petty Officer Second Class Boiler Technician in the United States Navy from 1973 to his honorable discharge in 1977.

He was employed for BRC Construction where he poured concrete. Nick was also self-employed as a plumber and home demolition.

Nick was of Catholic faith. He loved working with his hands, from doing odd jobs around the house to tending to his garden. He loved music especially the classic oldies. Mr. Alexander was always there for those in need and most importantly was a loving father.

Mr. Alexander is survived by a daughter, Lisa (Matthew) McNicholas of Howland; 2 sons, Nicholas Alexander of Niles and Anthony Alexander of Girard; 2 sisters, Elizabeth (Alan) Percy of Boise, ID and Laura Blackburn of Oroville, CA; 2 brothers, Frank (Joan) Alexander of Port Jefferson, NY and Dale Gutierrez of California; 1 grandchildren Alyvia and one grandchild on the way; Nick is also survived by his confidant for many years Jackie Alexander of Niles;

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A prayer service will take place in the Niles City Cemetery Chapel on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Deacon Frank Marino. Military honors will presented by American Legion Post 540.
