Paula Whittington of Niles passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at 1:46 A.M. in her residence.

She was 73.Paula was born in Girard on April 14, 1946, the daughter of the late Leslie Paul and Maxine Virginia Rodenbaugh Ginson.

Following her graduation from McDonald High School, she went on to obtain her cosmetology license from beauty school in Youngstown.Mrs. Whittington was employed as a managing beautician for Fantastic Sams for over 20 years.

She was of Mormon faith. Paula always brought a smile to those around her. She loved to dance, in fact once she started to dance it was hard to get her to stop. She loved giving hugs and being surrounded by others. Most importantly she cherished her family, especially her grandchildren. She always kept a beautifully decorated house; she painted the outside to resemble a beach house on the ocean.

She is survived by her husband of over 36 years, John Whittington; 2 daughters, Paula Lee Torres and Lisamarie Barrick; 2 sons, Nicholas Torres Jr. and Anthony “Tony” (Sherry) Torres; a sister, Joyce Santell; 11 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Paula was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Gale Wright; a grandson, Jonathan Spence; 2 nephews, Christopher Santell and Leslie Paul Wright.
