Phillip Boyer of Coitsville Township, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at
9:21pm at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Hospital in Boardman after battling Covid19 with
pneumonia. He was 69 years old.
Born in Kittanning, PA on April 10, 1952 the son of the late Delores Chalfant.
Phil is survived by his loving wife for 38 years, Lois “Cookie” Patton-Boyer, whom he happily
married on July 7, 2007. They raised three beautiful daughters together, Jodi (Andy) Hansen,
Jaclyn (Matthew) Patton-Guilder and Jessica Boyer. Phil devoted his love not only to his wife
but also to his 7 wonderful grandchildren, Gauge, Cole, Tyler, Aidan, Jace, Alivia and Alex
whom he adored including a great grandson Bentley who completed this circle of love in his life.
Phil also leaves behind his beloved dogs who will miss him a lot, Abby, Shelby and Bristol.
Phil worked for numerous body shops in the area since the early 80’s including Youngstown
Cycle, Marion’s Auto Service for 20 years as a certified mechanic where he would rebuild and
paint vehicles and made a great name for himself. He later was employed by King’s Collision
which retired from in 2004.
Phil always had a passion for motorcycles, hot rods, classic cars, Cadillacs, big trucks and his
favorite was a 2007 Ford Shelby GT 350. He loved all types of racing from pit bikes to funny
cars. He spent his summers on the race tracks for years with his buddies and passed down the
love of the thrill to his oldest daughter who still enjoys those memories of being on the track with
him. He handed down this love to his grandchildren and his greatest joy was riding with them,
loading the trailers and taking them to the dirt bike tracks. His favorite tracks included Norwalk,
Quaker City, Meander Raceway and Sharon Speedway.
Phil was a big fan of Nascar, following Dale Earnhardt Sr and Dale Eaarnhart Jr throughout
many years. He also loved the Cleveland Cavaliers. He enjoyed relaxing and watching his
favorite shows including “Street Outlaws” and “Storage Wars”.
In addition to his mother, Phil was preceded in death by his grandson, Baby Austin Phillip; his
beloved Yorkshire Terrier, Mossimo; his brother, Bill Brown; and a sister, Sandra Craft.
