Ralph P. Sharpe Jr.

Ralph P. Sharpe Jr. of Niles passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 7:15 p.m. in Trumbull Regional Medical Center. He was 72.

Ralph was born in Cleveland on August 6, 1946, the son of the late Ralph P. Sr. and Anna Belle Abbott Sharpe.

He was a 1966 graduate of Lakeview High School. Following high school, Mr. Sharpe proudly served our country in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1973 during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Sharpe retired in 2000 after 30 years as a Forklift Operator for the General Motors Lordstown Complex.

Ralph was of Christian faith. In every organization Ralph belonged to he excelled in, achieving various ranks and positions in the Parent Teacher Association, the Niles and Lordstown Lions Clubs International, Cortland and Niles Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #627, American Legion Post 106. In his spare time, Ralph enjoyed going on cruises, riding his motorcycle, traveling, and most importantly spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Cullivan Sharpe, whom he married in 1968. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary; a daughter, DeAnna (Timothy) Adams of Niles; a son Jeffrey (Michele) Sharpe of Niles; a brother, Robert Sharpe of Warren; 7 grandchildren, Joseph (Patrick), Aliesha (Ryan), Corrine (Brian) Alexis, Damion, Sabastian, and Carsen; 2 great grandchildren, Ariella and Alexandria. He is also survived by his dog, a Pomeranian Maltese, Marshmellow.

In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Sharpe; 3 sisters, Jo Ann, Virginia, and Roberta.

Calling hours will be on Monday, March 18, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Wm Nicholas Funeral Home & Cremation Services 614 Warren Ave. Niles, OH 44446. Following the calling hours, full military honors will be rendered in the funeral home.
