Roy J. Banks

Roy J. Banks of Warren passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021 at 8:10 p.m. in Mercy Health – St. Joseph Warren Hospital. He was 54 years old.

Roy was born in Warren on June 16, 1966, the son of Clair “Sonny” and Georgia (Allen) Banks.

He attended Warren City School System. Mr. Banks was employed in the construction industry most of his life.

Family and friends were Roy’s life. He cherished all the memories he made over the years, especially playing basketball with his grandchildren. In his spare time, he loved listening to music and spending time at his favorite fishing spots.

He is survived by his father, Sonny Banks of Warren; the mother of his children, Ethel Booth of Warren; 3 children, Anna (Mikal) Baugh of Howland, James (Tiffany) Banks of Warren, and Donald (Maria) Booth of Warren; 2 sisters, Georgia Lee Cline of Warren and Eva Banks of Warren; a brother, George Banks of Warren; 9 grandchildren, Adrianna, Arijha, Dominic, Skylynn, Kaliyah, Delanie, Robert, Michael, and Kilie. He is also survived by a very good friend, Halcie Hayes, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his mother, Roy was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Banks; and a longtime companion Sharon Green.

A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2021 with Rev. Cara Mechling.
