Wesley "Corky" Hayes Jr.

Wesley “Corky” Hayes Jr. of Warren passed away of natural causes on Friday, April 3, 2020 at 4:30 p.m. in his residence. He was 71.

Wesley was born on December 25, 1948 in Warren, the son of the late Harlie and Vivian Shiley Hayes.

He attended Niles City School System. A Vietnam War Veteran, he proudly served our country in the United States Army.

Mr. Hayes retired in 2005 after 32 years of employment from WCI the former Republic Steel. At the time of his retirement, Wesley was considered by many as a trusted and experienced craneman.

Corky as he was affectionately known by many loved the outdoors. Especially enjoying the summers at his favorite fishing spots, and the fall and winter in the woods hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Carly Barnard Hayes, whom he married in August of 1984; 2 sons, Wesley Hayes of Warren and Todd Koon of Niles; 3 sisters, Jody Bianco of Brookfield, Susan Marteney of Warren, and Bonnie (Paul) Newendorp of Streetsboro; a brother, Robert Hayes of Niles; 2 grandchildren, Ryan and Cameron.

In addition to his parents, Wesley was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Roy, Charles, and Rick Hayes; 2 sisters, Darlene Kondilas and Kathy Hayes.
