William Charles Whiting

William C. Whiting, 75, of Warren and Palm Springs, FL, passed away peacefully at the Trumbull Regional Medical Center on April 1, 2019. He was the son of Robert and Lavinia Hitchings Whiting, born on January 30, 1944 in Warren. He graduated from Warren G. Harding and continued his education attending college.

William married Karen Steinmetz on June 12, 1964, living and raising their family in the Warren area. He was employed by Valley Building Center as a Building Supply Sales Representative in the Geneva, Ohio area for many years until his retirement in 2008. William enjoyed spending time at Lake Erie and in Florida and with his family.

Surviving are his wife; Karen; two daughters; Susan L. (Russell) Hardin, and Barbara J. (Robert) Michael; daughter-in-law; Heidi (David) Huffman; grandchildren; William P. (Angela) Whiting, Lauren Whiting, Jason Whiting, Shaun (Sasha) Hardin, Rachel Hardin, Cassandra (Lauren) Michael, Nicholas Michael, and Matthew Michael; great grandchildren; Natalie Whiting, and William David Whiting; brother: Robert ( Marsha) Whiting, and sisters: Mary Beth McCoy, and Marsha (David) King.

William was preceded in death by his parents, and son, William D. Whiting.

There will be a family gathering and they will be receiving friends on Sunday April 7, 2019 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at McFarland-Barbee Family Funeral Home in Warren.

The funeral service will be held on Monday April 8, 2019, 11:00 am, at McFarland-Barbee Family Funeral Home, with Reverend Matt Darrin celebrating his service. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna.
