Obituary

Alice L. Shaffer of Lordstown passed away at 9:50 p.m. on June 26, 2020 in Laurie Ann Nursing Home. She was 85 years old.

Alice was born in Johnstown, PA on May 9, 1935, the daughter of the late Walter and Mabel Kimmel Kopka.

She was a 1953 graduate of Richland High School. Alice was an Assistant Manager at Hickory Farms in Florida. She was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker.

Mrs. Shaffer was of protestant faith. She enjoyed cooking, not only for her family but for her neighbors and church family. Alice enjoyed cutting the grass and staying active. Most importantly she always put others before herself, whether it was working with Meals on Wheels or transporting her friends to church Sunday, Alice was truly a caring and giving person.

Her husband, Robert Shaffer Jr whom she married in July of 1960 passed away in July of 2002.

She is survived by a son, Robert Shaffer III and his fiancé Sherri Burchett of Lordstown; a daughter Regina (Jonathan) Shelton of Pinehurst, NC; a sister, D. Jane Vallardi of Cleveland, OH; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Alice was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Baldwin; an infant brother, Walter A. Kopka.
