Alvin “Wayne” Garrett of Warren passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 2:23 p.m. in Trumbull Regional Medical Center. He was 65.
Alvin was born in Barberton, OH on April 6, 1954, the son of the late Alvin and Geneva Wright Garrett.
He attended schools in Akron, OH and Hundred, WV.
Mr. Garrett was employed for many years at Larry’s Super Pawn, specializing in music sales.
Wayne as he was affectionately known by family and friends was of Christian faith. His music talents span many instruments, from banjo and guitar to the soothing music of a harmonica. Earlier in life, Wayne fulfilled another passion of his, owning and operating the Warren Boxing Club. He enjoyed being in the outdoors, whether it was fishing at his favorite lake, riding his motorcycle or in his younger days leaving school to enjoy a day of hunting.
He is survived by his 4 sons, Keith, Kevin (Candy), Aaron, and Joshua Garrett all of Warren; a step-son, Jason Hill; his longtime companion, Cindy Hill of Warren; 4 brothers, Dan, Dave, Ronnie, and Mark Garrett; 4 sisters, Linda Garrison, Debbie Stanley, Becky Butler, and Tonya Coulter; 4 grandchildren, Melody, Dustin, Sarah, and Keith; 1 great grandson, Constantine.
In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by two ex-wives, Mary and Christine Garrett.
