Barry K. Steffey Sr. of Howland passed away peacefully on Monday, January 25, 2021 in Trumbull Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was 75 years old.

Barry was born in Kittanning, PA on June 19, 1945, the son of the late Henry and Mildred Hooks Steffey Sr.

He attended Ford City High School. Mr. Steffey was a proud Vietnam War Veteran who honorably served our country in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967.

Barry retired in 2006 following 25 years of employment with Progressive Electrical Contractors as their purchasing and warehouse manager.

Mr. Steffey was a member of the Wildare United Methodist Church. He loved watching his friends’ race stockcars and earlier in life bowled on various leagues throughout the area. Barry was an active member of the Howland American Legion Post 700 and the Disabled American Veterans Trumbull County Chapter 11. Barry was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penguins fan, along with Penn State and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

His wife Frances “Francie” Pyne Steffey whom he married June 28, 1968, passed away February 22, 2006.

He is survived by, 2 daughters, Kimberly (Craig) Weimer of Niles, Michelle Steffey and her companion Henry Ebben of Howland; a son, Barry K. (Michele) Steffey Jr. of Niles; a sister, Peggy (Richard) Dailey of Cowansville, PA; a brother, Wayne (Connie) Steffey of Ocala, FL; 7 grandchildren, Joshua (Hailey) Nix, Rebekah Nix, Dr. Amanda (Chris) LaBenne, Alexandra (Cody) Hugaboom, Anthony “AJ” Steffey, Alyssa Steffey, and Abigail Steffey; 5 step-grandchildren William, Jacob, Michael, Maggie, and Kassidy Weimer; 5 great grandchildren, Nathan, Sage, Evelyn, Silas, and Vivian; He is also survived by his companion, Debbie Gula and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Barry was preceded in death by a son Christopher Steffey; a sister, Linda Wheeler; a brother, Henry George Steffey.

Calling hours will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 29, 2021 and calling hours Saturday, January 30, 2021 from 10:30 until the time of service in the Wildare United Methodist Church Ext, 7211 N. Park Ave. Cortland, OH 44410.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. in the Wildare United Methodist Church.

Masks and social distancing will be observed during the calling hours and funeral service.
