Bonita “Bonnie” M. Patterson of Champion Twp. passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at 8:19 a.m. in Windsor House of Champion. She was 90 years old.
Bonnie was born on May 5, 1931, in Warren, the daughter of the late Leroy and Margaret Brown Durst.
She was a 1949 graduate of Champion High School and was treasurer of her graduating class.
Mrs. Patterson was a loving homemaker and wonderful stay at home mom. She cherished the ability to spend time with her children every day.
Bonnie was of Presbyterian faith. She had a special place in her heart for cats, was known for her green thumb, she could work magic with growing plants, and was an excellent cook. In her spare time, she enjoyed working on cross word puzzles and word finds, collecting Tom Clark Gnomes, glassware, and Avon. Earlier in life she enjoyed bowling.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth L. Patterson whom she married July 5, 1950; 4 children, Mark (Kathy) Patterson of Niles, Jeffrey Patterson of Howland, Daniel (Sonya) Patterson of Warren, and Wendy (Robert) Holloway of Champion; a sister, Patricia Criddle of Bristol; 8 grandchildren, Kayla, Jared, Vincent, Jason, Krista, Kaitlyn, Travis, and Alexander; 7 great grandchildren, Brant, Cameron, Bryanna, Kelsie, Carter, Ashtyn, and Tristyn.
In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth; a great granddaughter, Aaliyah; a sister, Nancy McDonough; a brother, Robert Durst.
