David L. Spencer

David L. Spencer of Niles passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 12:35 p.m. at Hospice House in Poland. He was 75.

David was born in Ravenna, OH on January 18, 1945, the son of the late Floyd A. Spencer and Martha L. Thompson Spencer Walters.

Following high school, David proudly served our country in the United States Navy.

Mr. Spencer was employed for 28 years as a welder and fitter at Youngstown Welding & Engineering.

He enjoyed being an amateur radio operator for many years. Earlier in life, he loved taking his family camping. David looked forward to spending some time in the casino occasionally. Most importantly he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

His wife, Sharon Morris whom he married November 28, 1965 passed away on December 10, 2011.

David is survived by his daughter, Robin (Jim) Williamson of Niles; 2 sons, David (Wanda) Spencer of Niles and Michael Spencer of Niles; a sister, Karen (Tony) Reppy of Niles; 7 grandchildren, Andrew Marino, Bradley, Brandon, Brett, and Tyler Spencer, Brittany (Ryan) Johnson, and Megan Sanders; and 11 great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Terian, Alayna, Tucker, Max, Sullivan, Theodore, Kazio, Harper, Harmony, Christopher, and William.

In addition to his parents and wife, David was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Spencer; 2 brothers, Bill and Bud.

At David’s request, there will be no calling hours.

Inurnment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with Military Honors.
