Helen June Marino

October 24, 1928 — June 19, 2019

Niles

Helen June Marino of Niles reunited with her husband in heaven on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 10:15 a.m. She was 90.

Helen was born in Warren, OH on October 24, 1928, the daughter of the late Millard and Ethel June Zipf Robison.

She was a 1947 graduate of Mineral Ridge High School. Earlier in life, Helen was employed at the 5 and Dime store in Niles and prior to having children she was the bookkeeper for Robbins Furniture Store. Mrs. Marino and her husband were longtime friends with the Pace family and would clean their car dealership after hours and provide childcare for them.

Mrs. Marino was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church of Niles. Family and friends were everything to Helen. Following work, Helen and Eugene would pack up the kids and spend the evenings at Paramount Lake Club in Niles or take their classic car to the Meander and Howland drag strip to race. As many know, Eugene lost his eyesight early on in life and Helen would drive him around, in heaven Eugene can now drive Helen on those car rides they enjoyed so much together. Helen and her daughter Lynn each year would buy season tickets to the Youngstown Symphony. They would enjoy their evenings at the symphony and then have a wonderful dinner at Overture Restaurant.

Her husband, Eugene Marino, whom she married November 27th, 1948, passed away on April 1, 1998.

Helen is survived by a daughter, Lynn Allyson (Roger) Bianco of McKinley Heights; 2 grandchildren, Nicole Bianco and Nathan (Visna Klatka) Bianco; a great granddaughter Krystal Shepherd.

In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by a son, Mark Alan Marino; 2 sisters Joann Robison and Jane Pellizarri; 3 brothers, James, Bill, and Robbie Robison.
