James C. Moore of Girard, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at 6:21 p.m. in Addison Healthcare Center. He was 64.

Mr. Moore was born in New Castle, PA on January 6, 1957, the son of the late Fred and Myrtle June Gordon Moore.

He was a 1976 graduate of Champion High School. Following high school, James attended Free Gospel Bible Institute in Export, PA. Later he enrolled in Trumbull Business College, where he earned an associate degree in computer programming. He then furthered his education by attending classes through New Horizons Computer Learning. He also held his CDL through TDDS.

James was employed at Cyber and UPMC as a computer programmer for many years. More recently, he worked as a truck driver for Jaro Trucking LLC and then for R+L Carriers, which was his favorite employment as he got the opportunity to work with his sons.

Mr. Moore attended North Lima Mennonite Church. His wife, sons, and extended family were his entire life. He loved spending time around a bonfire cracking jokes with his boys. He was a jokester and passed his sense of humor down to his kids. He enjoyed traveling with his son to find junk cars to turn into movie masterpieces, such as the red truck with Dorothy from Twister, which he got the opportunity to drive with his son Marc in a parade. He loved spending time in his son Matt’s garage helping him and his wife with their trucking business MacGyvering everything he did. He was a volunteer for the Board of Elections as a poll worker for Vienna. His faith was also a large part of his life. He was an ordained minister through Peoples Full Gospel Mission. He encouraged others to pray with him and passed out Bibles to others to spread the word of God. He was a trooper fighting his illness and will be greatly missed by his family and all those whose lives he touched.

James is survived by his family, “The Moops” including his wife, Debra Lynn Ridener Moore, whom he married on July 28, 1979; 3 sons, Matthew Allen Moore and his wife Bobbie Sue LeFebvre of New Castle, PA, Marc Clifton Moore of Niles, and Michael Edward Moore and his wife Amanda of Mineral Ridge; a sister, Darlene Helsius and her husband David of Brookfield; a brother in law Richard Ridener of Niles; a sister in law, Shirley Moore of Niles; several nieces and nephews; and a grandchild on the way that he was so excited to meet.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother, Fred Moore, a brother-in-law, Dave Morris, and a sister-in-law, Julie Stahl.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in the Shiloh Full Gospel Church 1310 Shannon Rd, Girard, OH 44420. Everyone is invited to prepare a memory of James to share during the service.
