Joseph Edward Donnelly

Joseph Edward Donnelly of Cortland passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at 12:28 p.m. in Cortland Healthcare Center. He was 59.

Joseph was born on August 2, 1960 in Salem, the son of Edward J. and Anneliese Becker Donnelly.

Following high school, Mr. Donnelly earned his bachelor’s degree from Malone University.

Mr. Donnelly was employed as a schoolteacher at Hope Academy for Autism in Warren for many years. His true passion and gift were the arts, after leaving the educational system, Joseph followed his lifelong dream and love as the owner of the former Mohawk Valley Arts in Berlin Center. In his spare time, Joseph enjoyed playing the bag pipes.

He is survived by his mother, Anneliese Donnelly of Akron; 3 sisters, Teresa (Larry) Ratliff of Barberton, OH, Patricia Righetti of Strongsville, OH, Kathy Caddell of Barberton, OH. In addition, he is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Joseph was preceded in death by his father.
