Marie Irene Chasser

Marie Irene Chasser of Newton Falls passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at 1:30 a.m. in Mercy Health – St. Joseph Warren Hospital following a brief illness. She was 73.

Marie was born on September 11, 1946 in Warren, the daughter of the late Paul M. and Elizabeth Hildack Katona.

She attended Warren City School Systems. Mrs. Chasser was a loving wife, mother and homemaker.

Marie loved the outdoors, from camping and fishing with her family to working in her flower beds. She enjoyed watching and feeding the birds, she could name every type of bird that visited her yard and made sure her daughters also could. She was a member of the Newton Falls VFW Post 3332 and loved playing bingo with her friends.

Her husband, Kenneth R. Chasser whom she married April 16, 1977, passed away on September 28, 2000.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Tracey (Bill) Welling of Lakeland, FL, Barbara (Jeff) Wickline of Lordstown, and Deneen Price of Cortland; a sister, Betty (Walter) Lucas of Chagrin Falls, OH; a brother, Paul M. (Louise) Katona of Southington, OH; 9 grandchildren, Andrew, David, Kayla, Heather (Todd), Kelsey, Victoria, James, Michael (Dezerae), and Devan; 7 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Marie was preceded in death by a brother, William Katona; a son in law, James Price Jr.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Wm Nicholas Funeral Home & Cremation Services 614 Warren Ave. Niles, OH 44446.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2019 in the funeral home with Rev. Mary Prior pastor of Fowler United Methodist Church.

Interment will take place in Lordstown Cemetery.
