Mary Jane Tominey

Mary Jane Tominey of Niles passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at 5:38 p.m. in her residence. She was 90 years old.

Mary Jane was born on February 22, 1931, in Warren, the daughter of the late John L. and Ida Woodcock McDermott.

She was a 1949 graduate of Niles McKinley High School.

Mrs. Tominey was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. Earlier in life Mary Jane obtained her beauticians License, she was employed in the cafeteria at St. Stephen’s School and as a nurse’s aide at Shepherd of the Valley.

Mary Jane’s true love was Lake Erie. She made countless memories with family and friends at their lake house. Appreciating the beautiful sunsets and swimming in the lake. In addition to swimming, Mary Jane enjoyed long walks through Stephen’s Park.

Her husband, Peter M. Tominey, whom she married in 1952, passed away in 2001.

She is survived by a son, Jack (Debbie) Tominey of Niles; a daughter, Patricia Tomlin of Niles; 8 grandchildren, Ron, Scott, Craig, Melissa, Michael, Scot, Ryan, and Abbey; 3 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Jane was preceded in death by a son, Peter Tominey Jr.; a daughter, Gail Tereba; a brother, Jack McDermott; a grandson, Peter Tominey III.
