Pierson "Butch" J. Butcher

Pierson J. “Butch” Butcher Jr. of Warren passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021, at 12:29 p.m. in his residence. He was 72 years old.

Pierson was born on December 13, 1948 in Sutton, WV, the son of the late Pierson J. and Virginia Simmons Butcher.

He was a graduate of Sutton High School and furthered his education at a technical college, where he obtained his certification in auto mechanics.

Mr. Butcher retired with over 30 years of employment as a millwright with General Motors Lordstown Assembly Plant. In his spare time he also owned a landscaping company and was a real estate agent for various local realty companies in the area.

Butch as he was affectionately known by friends and family took pride in his community. Butch not only cared for and maintained his own property but enjoyed going to vacant lots throughout the city to mow, he also painted fire hydrants; Butch did anything to beautify the community he called home. He was honored when he became a recipient of a community star in the city of Warren. In his spare time, Mr. Butcher could always be found helping others, whether it was providing transportation to those in need or providing a safe place, a hot meal, and a roof over their head for someone transitioning back into society. Most importantly he cherished his family, his daughter was the light of his life and was so proud of her.

He is survived by a daughter, Amy (Mike) Recser of the Carolinas; 2 sisters, Nancy Fowler and Patsy Shaver; a brother, Donnie Butcher; 2 grandchildren, Justin and Abbey.
